WHAT_YOU_GET

A room, a deadline, and people who have done this before.

MENTORS

People who have shipped things

Engineers and CS students walk the room all day. Ask them anything. They will not write your code, and they will tell you when your idea is too big for six hours.

TEAMS_OF_5

Five people, one repo

Teams are five to ten. Big enough that someone knows the part you do not, small enough that nobody is a passenger. The leader registers everyone at once.

HOW_IT_WORKS

Three steps. That is the whole thing.

  1. 01

    Form a team

5 to 10 hackers, grades 9 to 12, any school. The leader registers everyone and pays once, then we approve the team.

  2. 02

    Build for six hours

Doors at 9, clock starts at 10. Pick a problem, scope it down hard, and get a web app running. Mentors are in the room the whole time.

  3. 03

    Ship it to judges

Hands off keyboards at 4. Five minutes, live demo, no slides that hide a broken build. Prizes for first, second and third.

PRIZES

Three teams walk out with something.

Judged on what runs, not on what the slide says. The full prize pool is being confirmed with sponsors.

1st

First place

The Terminal trophy, and your build on the front page of the next one.

2nd

Second place

Runner-up medals for all five, and a spot in the Terminal 2 judging pool.

3rd

Third place

Third-place medals, and your team name on the wall.

SPONSORS

Six slots. All of them open.

Terminal 1 puts up to 250 high-school builders in one room for a day, and it is the biggest hackathon in the GTA. If your company wants to be the reason they can afford to be there, the inbox is below.
